Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez A Good Guy?

Click on the title for a link to the Yahoo! news article that says that Venezuela is offering fuel and food to the US due to the huricane effects. He is offering to do this through Citgo, the Venezuela state owned oil company. A very good PR move, especially considering the heat the US is getting after Pat Robertson said that the US should assinate him. He is not a very good friend of the US as he is strictly limiting freedoms in his nation and creating a socialist state that will probably go down the tubes once he is out of power or world economic conditions change (high oil prices are keeping him in the money).

Even better he is offering to sell discounted gasoline to poor Americans and free eye surgery to those who do not have health care in the US. I wonder how many people are going to take advantage of his offers. Hopefully everyone who needs it. I dont really care who is giving out these things as long as they help people. Take what you can get right? Well that is what I think. And maybe the US-Venezuela relationship can start improving too.
