Old School Car On the Way Home + Prize!

I was dropping a package off at the UPS store (returning my Oreck XL Air Purifiers to be exact) when I shopped this in front of me. Its quite rare that you see these old cars running on the road. Many reasons behind this, probably because they are hard to maintain and worth a lot of money so getting in an accident would be no picnic. Also look at the size of those tires! I am sure that many bikes today have larger tires than that. He was not going very fast but it sure was smelly behind the old Ford. But seeing it makes me think of how far we have come in the world and yet strangely how much the same everything is.

If you can tell what kind of car I am driving in this picture then you will get a prize...

It is amazing how far we have come and your post reminded me of my grandpa who used to work in an antique car museum. I used to be fascinated with how large and heavy the cars were, and on such seemingly small wheels/tires. I used to hear my grandparents reminisce about the ol' rumble seats!

I've been thinking a lot about how far we've come in communications in the last 150 years. I guess I've been thinking about it because the kids are hooked on watching the seasons of Little House on the Prairie. People would walk a mile or so to town and basically be totally cut off from their families. If someone got injured, it could be hours before family members were notified. Today, with cellphones, Internet, satellites and whatever else, we are literally in constant communication. I can communicate with someone in India almost as easily as I can contact my best friend at almost any time of day. Heck, in today's cars we can have Onstar or GPS systems installed so we are tracked by satellite!

Technology, fascinating.
